Dakshin Mudra is a two-pronged initiative, firstly to bring to homes all over the world, authentic hand-made crafts of South India and secondly, to justly monetise the craftsmen, many of whom languish in poor economic health only because they have no outlet to sell their wares or get a fair price.
We hope to achieve this objective by promoting traditional crafts and craftsmen through our website, which will be up and runing soon. In the meantime we are in the process of meeting genuine craftsmen, people who have been craftsmen for ages, people who have a leinage of craftsmanship. Some of who just might be contemplating giving up their trade and switching over to more lucrative work...
